Meet Yazmin

Zammit Stevens competed as an Olympian in The Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, a high watermark in her already impressive six-year weightlifting career. Her competitive spirit has seen her participate in an array of major championships, including the World Championships, European Championships, Commonwealth Games, and University Games.

Her commitment to excellence is evidenced by her astonishing track record of breaking the national record over 70 times within a span of just two years. This achievement serves to elevate the standard of the sport in Malta.

In recognition of her contributions and achievements, Zammit Stevens was named Malta’s most recent Sportswoman of the Year. One of her most memorable feats was becoming the first Maltese woman to lift more than 100kg overhead, setting a benchmark in her nation’s sporting history.

Through her determination, skill and record-breaking performances, Yazmin Zammit Stevens has elevated the profile of weightlifting in Malta and inspired a new generation of athletes.
