Lea is a German footballer who plays as a forward for Bayern Munich and the German national team. In July 2020, Schüller signed a three-year contract with FC Bayern Munich, which she has since extended to 2026. She made her debut for her new team in a preseason match, scoring the first two goals for a 3–1 win against SC Freiburg on 9 August. Schüller also made her first ever UEFA Women's Champions League appearance in a 2–1 loss against defending champions Olympique Lyonnais on 23 August.
She continued her impressive displays in the 2021–22 Frauen-Bundesliga season, finishing as the league's top goal scorer with 16 goals as well as the club's top goal scorer with 20 goals in all competitions. Since joining Bayern Munich, she has won the Frauen-Bundesliga three times.
Lea was a crucial player in the WEURO 2022 tournament and came runner up with Germany as they were defeated by England in the Final. In 2024, Lea helped her national team achieved a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics.
Lea won Footballer of the Year (Germany) in 2022 and in September 2024, she was nominated for the Ballon d'Or.
