Ramona Bachmann is one of the most recognisable faces in the game of football. As a player for the Swiss national team, her career has included stints in Switzerland, Sweden, USA, Germany, England and now France — where she plays for Paris St Germain.
She has appeared in every major international tournament and played in the Champions League. This season, she’s due to play the knockout stages with Paris St Germain. As a striker, she has played more than 130 games for the Swiss national team, scoring 52 goals at the time of writing.
Ramona’s work ethic is one of the reasons she’s so highly revered within the game. Every summer, Ramona and fellow international teammate Sandra Bestchart run a local football camp in Switzerland for 7–16 year olds. Visa have been involved the last 2 years — supporting the running of the camps and providing opportunities to local children.
In Switzerland’s opening 2023 FWWC match against Philippines, Bachmann scored the opening goal for a 2-0 win and was the top goal scorer for Switzerland. The team progressed to the last 16, but were unfortunately knocked out by eventual tournament winners, Spain.
